CBM Vision by Ryan Lambert
I couldn’t be more excited about what we see God doing in raising up Congregation Beth Messiah. God has been shaping this vision in my heart and mind for the past six or seven years. Amy and I have prayed, talked, dreamed, sought counsel, and then done all those things some more! It is energizing to see everything beginning to take shape!
Simply stated, my hope is that CBM will be a community of believers in the Messiah who increasingly treasure the fact that Yeshua is the “hope of Israel” (Jeremiah 14; 17; Acts 28) who has come to display the riches of God’s glory by forgiving our sins and giving us new life.
Truly, the God of Israel is amazing. Throughout our history, He shows Himself to be completely worthy of our praise and worship. He is a good God and so full of chesed (mercy).
God demonstrates His love to us over and over in that while we constantly go our own way, He saves us from ourselves again and again. Chiefly, God displayed His incredible mercy and rachamim (compassion) by sending forth the Messiah Yeshua to die as the ransom and atonement for our sins – thus fulfilling the words of Isaiah the prophet that the Messiah would be “pierced through for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities. The chastening for our well being fell upon Him and by His scourging we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). Incredible. In Yeshua, God displays His glorious justice, wrath, mercy, compassion, and love all at once! I’m still amazed by this. God tells us why He did this. God sent Yeshua to die for our sins so that He once again and with undeniable clarity would show our people and all the nations what kind of God the God of Israel is.
It is very good news that Yeshua came to be a “servant to the Jewish people to confirm the promises given to our fathers and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy” (Romans 15:8-9). So…it is this good news that is the air we breathe and the ground we stand on at Congregation Beth Messiah. We want to be a community that encourages people, whether Jewish or Gentile, to joyfully drink deeply from this well of life that God has given us.
I’d like to invite you to visit us or get in touch with me personally to learn more about our congregation. Whether you are Jewish or Gentile, whether you are a believer or are not a believer, whatever your background is, you are welcome to check out what’s happening at Congregation Beth Messiah.
Grateful for God’s Faithfulness, Ryan
